About me

I’m Pennie. I’ve been married to Ben for 3.5 years and i’m mum to Lara who is 3 and William who is 18 months. (March 2016)
My current aim as a busy mum is to make sure i’m spending enough quality time with the children… which up till now I really don’t think i’ve done enough of, its been a very tough 3 years transitioning into a parent of 2 small children and I find things get very stressful in our house and things easily get on top of me. I’ve been struggling with post natal depression and as a result I feel I just never find the time to actually play with my children.
I’m now at a point where I’m feeling good… Not great… but good. I’m can now start to make a conscious effort to improve myself even more and try and repair the bad feelings from the past… So from this year onwards I have made a vow to play with my children. Even if that is only 15 minutes a day of 100% attention with no phone, tv, housework, cooking etc.
Not only is this good for me to really get to know them, but its good for them to know that mummy is actually there for them and that i’m fun… I don’t just work, cook and clean all day long.
I’m starting a blog to record what we do… easy activities that don’t take much set up, don’t cost much if anything, and are easy to clear away and can be played with for 15 minutes or for hours. But to the children it means so much and not only is it amazing fun with mum and/or dad but they also learn from it too without even realising!
